Application Fields of the BeiDou Sounding System
Leave a message
The Beidou atmospheric sounding system boasts a wide range of applications and broad prospects for development. In addition to conventional weather forecasting, it can be utilized for marine climate research, high-altitude meteorological detection, and similar purposes; it also serves as essential equipment for vessels operating at sea, such as marine surveillance ships and deep-sea scientific research vessels.
Globally, the primary methods employed by various nations for high-altitude meteorological observation include satellites, weather aircraft, ground-based radar, and atmospheric sounding systems. These methods are often integrated to ensure the acquisition of the most accurate meteorological data possible. Among these techniques, only the radiosondes within atmospheric sounding systems are capable of ascending to high altitudes to directly "sample" atmospheric conditions; the data they yield is generally considered the most accurate and, consequently, serves as the calibration standard for other high-altitude meteorological detection systems.
