A fully automated sounding system typically consists of a monitoring center and remote, unmanned high-altitude meteorological sounding stations, which are interconnected via wireless communication. The core component of the remote station is the intelligent balloon-launching subsystem, comprising a working cabin, a balloon-release compartment, connecting assemblies, and retrieval and transfer mechanisms. The monitoring center is responsible for receiving and processing the sounding data transmitted back by the remote stations, as well as monitoring their operational status.
Characterized by its intelligent and unmanned operation, the fully automated sounding system enables comprehensive coverage of high-altitude meteorological detection. This system not only reduces operational costs but also enhances flexibility regarding site selection and observation scheduling. Furthermore, the system incorporates specific protocols designed to facilitate high-altitude atmospheric observations even under adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds.
Operational Capabilities: Sounding Instruments per Load: 24 units. Detection Range: Maximum detection altitude of 30 km; maximum slant range of 200 km. Detection Mission Success Rate: >95%. Automated Balloon Launch Success Rate: 100%. Environmental Adaptability: Internal Cabin Temperature: 0°C to +40°C. External Ambient Temperature: -40°C to +50°C. Wind Environment: Operates normally when ground wind speeds do not exceed Force 8 on the Beaufort scale; sustains no structural deformation or damage when wind speeds do not exceed Force 12.
This equipment is designated for use in maritime high-altitude meteorological detection, serving to address existing gaps in offshore atmospheric sounding capabilities. The fully automated sounding equipment constitutes an unmanned, intelligent system for high-altitude meteorological detection. It is capable of measuring high-altitude meteorological parameters-such as wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity-at pre-scheduled intervals. The system automates the entire process, including balloon inflation, the release of the sounding instrument and balloon, tracking, data reception and processing, and the transmission of meteorological information to external networks; it also supports remote diagnostics, video surveillance, and online technical assistance.
