Meteorological Detecting Radar is an automatic upper-air meteorological detecting radar for China Meteorological Administration. Working with digital radiosonde GTS1, it can obtain wind direction, wind speed, temperature, air pressure and humidity at various layers from ground to the height of 30km and provide accurate meteorological data for weather stations.

Meteorological Detecting Radar is an automatic upper-air meteorological detecting radar for China Meteorological Administration. Working with digital radiosonde GTS1, it can obtain wind direction, wind speed, temperature, air pressure and humidity at various layers from ground to the height of 30km and provide accurate meteorological data for weather stations.
The radar consists of antenna, mainframe box (including main control box and drive box), computer (including host computer and display), oscilloscope and UPS. The antenna is erected on outdoor floor or on flat roof; the other devices are put indoors. The maximum distance between indoor devices and outdoor antenna is 30m, which are connected through cable.

  • It uses phase-comparison single-route single-pulse technology at L band for the first time and thus provides high sounding precision.
  • It has functions of radar tracking and monitoring, data recording and processing and automatic preparation of meteorological messages.
  • It has the function of radio theodolite.
  • It uses new-type temperature, humidity and pressure sensors and thus provides high sounding quality.
  • It uses short-distance ranging technology, which makes ranging distance within 100m.
