The Upper-Air Meteorological Radar is a purpose-built radar system developed for automated upper-air meteorological observation operations. Working in conjunction with compatible digital radiosondes, the system acquires wind direction, wind speed, temperature, pressure, and humidity data across multiple atmospheric levels from ground level to 30 km altitude, providing meteorological stations with high-accuracy, high-timeliness observational data support.
The system consists of an antenna unit, a main equipment cabinet (including a master control unit and drive unit), a computer system (including host and display), an oscilloscope, and a UPS power supply. The antenna unit is installed outdoors on flat ground or a rooftop platform; all other equipment is housed indoors. Indoor and outdoor units are connected by cable with a maximum separation distance of 30 m, allowing flexible and convenient site deployment.
