Description
Our PEICA series equivalent ion lightning arresters are a next-generation solution tailor-made for power system lightning protection. Unlike conventional lightning protection gear that actively attracts lightning to the ground, this equipment adopts a passive ionization technology to eliminate lightning hazards at the source.
Leveraging the natural electric field of thunderclouds, the built-in composite discharger generates high-density plasma. It neutralizes cloud-to-ground charges steadily, breaking down the charge accumulation process between thunderclouds and the earth. This stops lightning leaders from forming, so direct lightning strikes can never take place.
Specially optimized for power grid operation scenarios, the whole unit runs with ultra-low operating current. It avoids massive inrush current and accompanying electromagnetic interference brought by traditional lightning rods. It works reliably across diverse terrains and harsh working environments, effectively cutting down lightning-induced line trips, equipment damage and power outages. It is a reliable upgrade for overhead transmission lines, towers and various power facilities.
Key Features
Source lightning suppression, no lightning diversion to ground This arrester never draws lightning toward power facilities. Its working current stays at microampere level during thunderstorms. It rules out huge lightning current surges, protecting power lines and related equipment from direct lightning impact fundamentally.
Ultra-wide coverage, fewer installation units required It features an 86° single-side protection angle and a total coverage angle of 172°. The effective protection radius reaches 14 times the installation height difference. Compared with traditional products with only around 45° protection angle, it covers a far larger area. It greatly reduces the total number of devices and construction costs for long-distance power lines.
Eliminate secondary damage to power & electronic equipment No large current flows into the grounding system, so no strong magnetic fields, induced overvoltage, backflash voltage or step voltage will occur nearby. It prevents secondary damage to line auxiliary devices, monitoring instruments and control systems, keeping the whole power network operating stably.
Flexible adaptability to complex grounding conditions Power systems often cover mountainous areas, hills and remote regions with poor soil conductivity. This arrester has almost no strict limits on grounding resistance. It operates normally even in areas with grounding resistance up to thousands of ohms, saving expensive and labor-intensive grounding resistance reduction projects.
Built-in smart monitoring for grid operation management Integrated with high-precision sensors and wireless data transmission modules, it monitors real-time operating status, ambient parameters and device health round the clock. Operation and maintenance teams can remotely view data and check historical records, making daily patrol and fault troubleshooting more efficient for power grids.
Military-grade reliability for all-weather grid operation The device adopts fully passive structure and military-standard surface treatment. It resists salt corrosion, wind and sand erosion. It can operate stably in extreme temperatures from -60℃ to +65℃. It delivers long-term stable performance for outdoor power facilities all year round.

Application fields
High & Ultra-high Voltage Transmission Lines & Towers Perfect for 220kV, 500kV and other main grid lines and supporting towers. Widely used by state-level power grids. After installation, it obviously lowers lightning trip-out rates and ensures continuous power supply on trunk lines.
New Energy Power Stations Applicable to centralized photovoltaic power stations and wind farm facilities. It protects power generation units, power distribution cabinets and connecting lines from lightning strikes. It guarantees safe power generation and on-site operational safety.
Offshore & Island Power Facilities Ideal for power supporting equipment on offshore oil platforms, coastal docks, islands and marine buoys. It copes with frequent lightning and strong salt spray in marine environments, securing offshore power systems.
Substations & Outdoor Power Distribution Facilities Suitable for outdoor equipment in substations, urban power distribution poles and related auxiliary facilities. It prevents lightning from interfering with power distribution links and stabilizes power supply for urban and rural areas.
Remote & Mountainous Area Power Projects A top choice for power lines and facilities in mountainous, hilly and remote lightning-prone zones. It adapts to complex terrain and poor grounding conditions, solving long-standing lightning protection problems for rural and remote power networks.
Why Choose Our Products
Passed Authoritative Third-Party Testing and Defense-Grade Laboratory Verification:
Defense Science and Technology Certified Laboratory Testing: In ultra-high voltage lightning strike tests, with an average applied voltage of above 320 kV (maximum 322 kV), it successfully intercepted and blocked lightning strikes continuously, with extremely low residual voltage after the lightning strike (only around 10V - 11.4V).
2. Extensive portfolio of top-tier clients and major project examples:
Military and National-Level Bases: Successfully deployed at a satellite launch base (with exceptionally effective lightning protection during severe thunderstorms), the world's highest radar station (5374 meters above sea level), and a naval island base.
State Grid and China Southern Power Grid: Operating long-term on high-voltage transmission lines in Shenzhen, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Shandong, and other locations, with multiple towers and lines achieving "zero power outages/zero lightning strike trips" after installation.
Recognized by Leading International Companies: Personally commissioned by Petronas (a Malaysian oil giant) for third-party testing and large-scale procurement and installation (Kuala Lumpur and wildlife sanctuaries, etc.). International application examples also exist in Bali Airport, Indonesia, and Canada.
