This wind measurement equipment is a professional optical meteorology tool. It uses laser backscattering from airborne tiny particles and the Doppler effect to map out wind fields. Servo systems drive the laser to scan the air and collect complete 3D wind data. Air particles moving with the wind shift the laser frequency. The device calculates wind speed from this frequency change. After data processing, we get full wind field data covering heights up to 3 kilometers.
