OTH Radar System

The Over-the-horizon (OTH) Radar Support System is one integrated operational support platform, it provides the ability to observe the sea surface hydrometeorologically and quantitatively evaluate the performance of radar detection. The system provides a continual monitoring of marine atmospheric conditions and evaporation duct conditions, which results in an increased effective range for the detection of ships via the use of shore-based and shipborne radars from approximately 40 km to approximately 100 km. The system converts atmospheric observations (i.e., intelligence) into operational capabilities for radars.

Modular structure boosts system stability, cuts maintenance workload and costs. Reserved space also allows easy function upgrades later.It steadily captures temperature, humidity, pressure and other key weather data right at sea sites.Ultrasonic wind sensors work without wearing parts, securing precise wind readings amid rough ocean weather.Our self-developed algorithm can judge evaporation duct height with accuracy above 83 percent.Independent prediction technology evaluates sea target detection performance, reaching over 85 percent accuracy.It works out radar signal loss influenced by atmospheric ducts, linking ambient changes straight to actual detection effects.
